Rachael Bruton, LCSW (she/her)

At the heart of Rachael’s work is a belief that healing can be both meaningful and alive—rooted in authenticity, connection, and even moments of humor. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and New York, she creates a warm, relational space where clients can laugh, cry, and be fully human in the process of healing.

Rachael earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo. Her path into therapy was shaped by a deep sensitivity to the emotional worlds around and within her. What began as a natural role of “helper” has evolved into a grounded, intentional practice that honors the parts of people that have learned to survive while supporting new ways of relating to self and others. Her approach is collaborative, non-pathologizing, and trauma-informed, emphasizing curiosity, self-compassion, and the reduction of shame.

Rachael specializes in working with adults navigating ADHD, particularly those diagnosed later in life or who identify as neurodivergent. With lived experience of ADHD, she integrates personal insight with clinical expertise, offering adult ADHD assessments and supporting clients in understanding and working with their minds in empowering ways rather than trying to change them.

She also works at the intersection of trauma, grief and loss (including perinatal grief), disordered eating, depression, low self-esteem, and caregiver burnout. She is committed to working with individuals in marginalized bodies and practices from an anti-diet, body liberation framework, creating space for healing that is not contingent on changing one’s body.

Rachael offers preparation and integration support for psychedelic-assisted therapy, with training through SoundMind and The Living Medicine Institute. She supports individuals participating in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as well as those seeking integration for experiences outside of clinical settings, holding this work with care, respect, and clinical integrity.

Outside of the therapy space, Rachael values authenticity, connection, and finding moments of lightness and humor in everyday life—beliefs that continue to shape both her personal world and her work with others.
