Mallie Geer, BA (she/they)
Mallie is a graduate counseling intern completing their master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Carolina University. Having previously served as Widening Circles’ Patient Care Coordinator, they bring an established understanding of the practice and a deep appreciation for the healing potential of the Widening Circles community.
Mallie’s clinical interests include LGBTQ+ concerns, limiting beliefs, cognitive distortions, psychedelic-assisted healing, and the transformative power of group process. They are especially drawn to approaches that help people deepen self-understanding, cultivate self-compassion, and reconnect with their inherent strengths.
Mallie believes meaningful connection—to ourselves, one another, and the natural world—can be a powerful catalyst for healing. Outside the counseling room, they find restoration through time spent in nature. As part of their graduate internship, Mallie provides counseling and group facilitation under clinical supervision, including pro bono services for participants enrolled in the Heartwood IOP.
